Students have a chance to get their hands in the sand to produce their own metalcastings through Foundry in a Box demonstrations and learn about real-world castings and careers through Melting Point magazine.
College
AFS Student Chapters are the best way to engage with your collegiate peers and industry. Not only do AFS and FEF provide networking opportunities through the annual Metalcasting Congress/Expo and College Industry Conferences, but AFS and FEF also financially support your studies through scholarships. Participation in regional and national casting contests and technical poster contests provides hands-on practice for casting production and research also earning you networking and scholarship winnings!int magazine.
Career
As you transition from student to professional, AFS offers a free first-year of professional membership. Get involved with your closest professional chapter to network locally. Shared interest groups, Women in Metalcasting and Future Leaders in Metalcasting, meet at regional and national AFS events. Stay connected with AFS through the quarterly Member Connections, and Casting Connection, the AFS member exclusive on-line peer network, is the place to be to virtually network with all AFS members!
Continue your lifelong learning through the AFS publications and on-line library, the largest collection of published metalcasting industry research, and developing new metalcasting skills through Institute instructor-led courses and e-Learning. And the annual AFS Casting Congress/Expos offer excellent opportunities for learning and networking.
