Research Associate of Metalcasting Technical Services

The American Foundry Society is looking for a Research Associate of Metalcasting Technical Services to support key research initiatives, technical projects, government-funded work, and industry partnerships that help move the metalcasting industry forward.
This is a great opportunity for someone with an engineering, science, manufacturing, or technical background who is organized, detail-oriented, and ready to build a career at the intersection of research, project management, and advanced manufacturing.
Required Skills or Experience:
- This position is open to U.S. citizens only due to key duties related to projects funded by the Department of War.
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant manufacturing or related experience with insight into metalcasting.
- Knowledge of Aluminum, Engineering/Industry 4.0, Sand Additive Manufacturing, and Research is preferred.
- Strong organizational and/or project management skills with proven ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to think on one’s feet and convey information persuasively orally and in writing.
- Deep commitment to superior customer service, internally and externally.
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to read and write in English clearly.
- Position requires travel, occasional weekend and evening work.
