AFS Peters-Robison Library Reaches New Milestone

The Peters-Robison AFS Metalcasting Library has further cemented its status as the world’s largest and most comprehensive metalcasting library, recently expanding its digital collection to over 18,000 articles.

This exceptional resource includes technical materials from publications such as Modern Casting, Casting Source, AFS Transactions, AFS research reports, and AFS conference proceedings. Spanning topics from the 1800s to today, the library provides essential insights into every facet of the metalcasting process. Curated and maintained by the American Foundry Society, the library is available exclusively to AFS members and serves as a powerful tool to help users solve challenges, improve casting quality, and enhance operational efficiency. Members can access the library by visiting AFSinc.org/library.

Conveniently, AFS members can also access the library on the liberty link app and search by author, title, publication date, keyword, and more or retrieve favorite papers with the My Catalog feature. Brief tutorials for getting started with the various library features (app, My Catalog, enhanced search) are available to assist. For tailored support, AFS staff are ready to assist with locating specific information. To make navigating this vast collection even easier, AFS recently introduced the AFS Library Advanced AI Search that helps members quickly find the most relevant articles based on their specific needs. Users can ask questions or enter keywords, and the software will bring up articles, and technical papers that match their query. This intelligent search feature saves valuable time and ensures that members can access critical information faster than ever before.
