Congratulations to doctoral student

Dakota Carter, a sophomore from Fort Wayne, majoring in mechanical engineering at Trine University, recently won the Sinto-AFS Future Leadership of Metalcasting Scholarship.

Opening Friday, January 16, “Patterns of Meaning: The Art of Industry by Cory Bonnet” features salvaged pieces that are monuments to industry created from glass, ceramics and other materials. These massive objects honor the innovators and workers that built our modern world.   

"Spotlight on the Modern Metalcasting Industry" features footage from Trine University's metalcasting and foundry labs, located in the university's Bock center for innovation.

In 1996, to mark the 100th anniversary of the American Foundry Society, the West Philadelphia Bronze Company cast a 2,097-pound replica of the bell. The replica — which is not cracked — now hangs in the lobby of the Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Center at Penn State Behrend.
