State Foundry Association Leaders To Report During October 29 Members-Only Webinar

Wisconsin, California, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, and Pennsylvania To Report from the Capitals

October 21, 2025 (Schaumburg, IL): In the first-ever event of this kind, the American Foundry Society (AFS) is hosting a Members-Only Webinar on October 29 at 1:00 pm (CT) titled, “Essential Reports from the State Capitals.”

AFS maintains close working relationships with the state metalcasting associations. Because so much public policy is enacted in the state capitals that affects the foundry industry, the work of the state associations is very important. Their work complements the essential advocacy activity that AFS performs at the national level. Moreover, developments in one state are often seen occurring soon in other states.

To hear these critical updates on foundry issues from the state capitals, plan now to join AFS CEO Doug Kurkul for a roundtable discussion with the leaders/lobbyists from several of the state capitals, as follows:

James Simonelli – Report from California

Bill Lievense – Report from Michigan

Kevin Fuller – Report from Pennsylvania

Therese Benkowski – Report from Minnesota

Bryant Esch – Report from Wisconsin

Kevin Schmidt – Report from Ohio

Johnny Hill - Report from Texas

“AFS invites foundry leaders to hear from our state association partners on the critical issues that will be addressed in the state capitals in 2026,” stated Doug Kurkul, CEO of AFS.

This event is free for AFS members in good standing and $250 for non-members. To register, click here.

The American Foundry Society is a dynamic technical and advocacy organization that serves and represents the $50 billion metalcasting industry.
