AFS Metalcasters Week in D.C. Advocates for Industry on Capitol Hill

Metalcasters and industry suppliers from across the country will gather on Capitol Hill the week of June 19-23, 2023, for AFS Metalcasters Week in Washington, D.C. The week, which coincides with the annual AFS Government Affairs Fly-In on June 20-21, is dedicated to advocating for U.S. metalcasters, who will meet with approximately 100 Senate and House offices.

"AFS Metalcasters Week in D.C. is a unique opportunity for our industry to come together and speak with one voice on issues that affect us all," said Doug Kurkul, CEO of AFS. "We look forward to engaging with policymakers and advancing policies that promote the competitiveness of the U.S. metalcasting industry."

The American Foundry Society is a dynamic technical and advocacy organization that serves and represents the $46 billion metalcasting industry. AFS is the only association serving the entire industry, including all metals and processes, with a three-part focus on advocacy, education, and innovation. AFS also publishes Modern Casting and Casting Source magazines and presents Metalcasting Congress and CastExpo, the largest metalcasting trade events in North America. Founded in 1896, the organization is based in Schaumburg, Illinois, with an advocacy office in Washington, D.C. More information is available at afsinc.org.
