AFS recognized by FEF for corporate support

The American Foundry Society is proud to have been recognized with an award from the Foundry Educational Foundation for its corporate support of FEF.

AFS recently achieved the Chromium Level of FEF’s corporate giving program. AFS is committed to backing FEF’s mission of providing resources to develop technical talent for the metalcasting industry. Each year, AFS and FEF jointly present the AFS-FEF Outstanding Professor Award, which this past year was presented to Professor Russ Rosmait (Pittsburg State University). AFS also presents a scholarship with FEF, the AFS/FEF Student Technology Contest.

“AFS and FEF have a longstanding, shared commitment to attracting new employees to the metalcasting industry. We are committed to collaborating closely to advance both organizations’ important missions,” said Doug Kurkul, CEO of AFS.

FEF supports college metalcasting programs, students, and educators.

The American Foundry Society is a dynamic technical and advocacy organization that serves and represents the $33 billion metalcasting industry. AFS is the only association serving the entire industry, including all metals and processes, with a three-part focus on advocacy, education, and innovation. AFS also publishes Modern Casting and Metal Casting Design & Purchasing magazines and presents Metalcasting Congress and CastExpo, the largest metalcasting trade events in North America. Founded in 1896, the organization is based in Schaumburg, Illinois, with an advocacy office in Washington, D.C. More information is available at afsinc.org.
