Concrete Resources

American Concrete Institute (ACI)

ACI is a non-profit technical and educational organization whose technical committees develop standards for concrete technologies.  ACI has a number of educational and technology transfer forums, conducts and publishes research, and works through local chapters.   Among the ACI publications is ACI Materials Journal, which publishes research on materials used in concrete. The following ACI articles pertain to the use of foundry sand in concrete:

National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA)

NRMCA is the largest national trade association representing the concrete industry, with more than 1,500 individual company members.  Along with other technical and educational programs, NRMCA is the principal sponsor of the biennial CONEXPO-CON/AGG exhibition and technical program, the nation’s largest showcase for the construction industry.

Portland Cement Association (PCA)

Portland cement, which also can be manufactured with foundry sand, is an essential ingredient in concrete mixes.  PCA works closely with the concrete industry, sponsors concrete research, and supports a number of educational and technology transfer activities about concrete technology.

Construction Materials Recycling Association (CMRA)

CMRA promotes the recycling and reuse of a number of materials recovered from construction and demolition activities nationwide, which are estimated to be more than 325 million tons annually.
