Industry 4.0 reflects a significant transformation in production methods due to the digitization of manufacturing. Within the metalcasting industry, increasing demands for process efficiency, product traceability, and profitability require the ability to measure every step of the production process. These measurements can be used to determine and implement corrective actions. Technologies currently exist to identify and collect comprehensive data, resulting in complete traceability of the casting process while providing management with important tools for process improvement.
