U.S. Senator Katie Britt to Receive AFS Congressional Champion Award

SCHAUMBURG, IL – The American Foundry Society will present the AFS Congressional Champion Award to U.S. Senator Katie Britt of Alabama on June 10, 2025 during a reception at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, D.C.

“Senator Britt has demonstrated incredible leadership in advocating for pro-growth policies that benefit American metalcasters and workers,” said Doug Kurkul, CEO of the American Foundry Society. “Metalcasters across the country appreciate her strong commitment to economic opportunity, national security, and industry growth.”

The award presentation will take place during the 2025 Government Affairs Fly-In, held June 10–11, where leaders from across the metalcasting industry will engage with members of Congress on key policy priorities. Topics will include tax reform, energy reliability, trade enforcement, regulatory modernization, and workforce development. Registration for the event is open, and the Hotel Washington room block remains available through May 14.
