Schaumburg, IL: The American Foundry Society, North America's largest metalcasting professional society and trade association, has released its mid-year "Metalcasting Forecast & Trends," projecting an 8.0 percent increase in casting sales in 2026, year over year. That is a significant upward revision from the 4.2 percent growth AFS projected for 2026 in January.
Industry revenue reached approximately $53.7 billion in 2025, finishing stronger than estimated at the start of the year.
"The first half of 2026 has brought improving conditions and real uncertainty in roughly equal measure. But 2025 finished stronger than we estimated in January, and several tailwinds are now in place. Infrastructure funds continue to flow, financing conditions are easing, and federal order value has been strong," said AFS CEO Justin Scott.
Published twice each year, the "Metalcasting Forecast & Trends" is distributed at no cost to AFS Corporate Members and is an essential tool for understanding the North American metalcasting market and making company planning decisions. The analysis draws on data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the Federal Reserve, alongside the results of the AFS Quarterly Metalcasters Outlook Survey. The report is available for purchase by non-members for $1,000 and by Individual Members for $750.
