American Foundry Society Announces 2024 Directors Class Nominees

The American Foundry Society, North America’s leading metalcasting organization, announced the nominees for the incoming Directors Class of 2024-2028, who will serve four-year terms on the Board of Directors of AFS and the Institute.

The industry professionals selected for this class are:

  • Susan Bear, Chief Technology Officer, Grede Castings (Southfield, Michigan)
  • Bob Braun, President (retired), Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry (Manitowoc, Wisconsin)
  • Kelley Kerns, Director of New Business Development, HA International (Westmont, Illinois)
  • Paul Leonard, Investment Casting and Six Sigma Expert (Emmett, Michigan)

Additionally, the slate of Executive Officers will see a change in leadership. Angela Schmeisser, the current AFS Vice President and Managing Director of St. Marys Foundry, Inc., will assume the role of AFS President for the 2024-2025 term. David Gilson, Sales and Marketing Director at SinterCast, will serve as Vice President, while Bradford Muller, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Charlotte Pipe & Foundry, will become Immediate Past President. Joining the Executive Officers as 2nd Vice President will be John Lancaster, Plant Director at General Motors.

AFS thanks the five industry leaders who are rotating off the Board of Directors for their exemplary service:  Adam San Solo (Adam San Solo & Associates), Jim Mancuso (Mancuso Chemical Company), Andy Renkey (Harmony Castings), Pete Satre (Allied Mineral Products), and Rob Johnson (Waupaca Foundry).

These nominations were previously announced in Modern Casting. The new Directors and Officers will officially begin their terms at the conclusion of Metalcasting Congress 2024, scheduled for April 23–25 at the Baird Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
