The American Foundry Society, North America’s largest metalcasting trade association and professional society, today congratulated Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana on his election as Speaker of the House of Representatives.
“We congratulate Rep. Johnson on his election as Speaker. AFS and our 1,000 Corporate Members look forward to working with Speaker Johnson and other lawmakers in addressing our economic challenges and opportunities,” said Brad Muller (Charlotte Pipe and Foundry), President of the Society. “Congress and the Administration have important work to do in the areas of reigning in regulatory overreach, encouraging reshoring, strengthening our energy independence, enforcing our trade laws, infrastructure investment, tax policy, and workforce development. With the right public policies, metalcasters will play an even greater role in driving sustainable economic growth and opportunity for all Americans.”
The American Foundry Society is a dynamic technical and advocacy organization that serves and represents the $48 billion metalcasting industry. AFS is the only association serving the entire industry, including all metals and processes, with a three-part focus on advocacy, education, and innovation. AFS also publishes Modern Casting and Casting Source magazines and presents Metalcasting Congress and CastExpo, the largest metalcasting trade events in North America. Founded in 1896, the organization is based in Schaumburg, Illinois, with an advocacy office in Washington, D.C. More information is available at AFSinc.org.
