International Journal of Metalcasting Continues to Surge in Influence

The International Journal of Metalcasting, a peer-reviewed research journal published by the American Foundry Society in partnership with Springer Nature Publications, is proudly celebrating its fifth consecutive year of increasing Impact Factor growth.

The journal's Impact Factor, a metric reflecting the frequency of paper references in other publications, surged by an impressive 15% from 2021 to 2022, according to the latest findings from Journal Citation Reports, which closely monitors scholarly citations.

The continued rising Impact Factor of IJMC is a testament to the journal's growing importance and recognition within the global research community. Its increasing citation and readership rates demonstrate its significance as a platform for disseminating cutting-edge research and innovations in the metalcasting industry.

Over the last few years, the International Journal of Metalcasting has experienced substantial growth in the number of papers it publishes. In 2017, the journal featured 83 papers, and by 2021, this number soared to 159 papers. With 193 published in 2022, for 2023, IJMC is on track to surpass all previous years. Additionally, the upcoming Fall Issue will include 28 papers from the World Foundry Congress (WFC2022) held last fall in Korea. These contributions span across all major areas of metalcasting, showcasing the diverse and profound impact of research in the field.

“IJMC’s Impact Factor is a testament to the excellence and relevance of our journal's papers, which are made possible by the talents of our authors, the dedication of our reviewers and editorial board, and the collective efforts of Springer and AFS,” said IJMC Editor-in-Chief Tom Prucha. “Together, we have transformed IJMC into an unparalleled global repository of technical information for metalcasters."

IJMC, as the official research journal of the World Foundry Organization, remains committed to facilitating the exchange of research and technology for the global metalcasting industry. Its peer-reviewed, quarterly publications continue to contribute significantly to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
