Milwaukee to Host 2022 Sand Casting Conference

The latest advances in sand casting technology will be at the forefront of the 2022 Sand Casting Conference, Sept. 12-14 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

This thorough three-day conference from the American Foundry Society is led by experts in green sand casting and chemically bonded molds and cores. With presentation topics ranging from additive control to low-emission shell sand to mold data acquisition, the event is sure to provide metalcasters with the knowledge they need to improve their sand casting processes and benchmark their operations.

The keynote, "Sandology 4.0: Creating the Metalverse," will be presented by International Journal of Metalcasting Editor-in-Chief Tom Prucha (MetalMorphasis LLC). Prucha's presentation will explore moving toward performance-based tests that are quantitative, conducted either in real-time online or augmented via lab testing.

Other presentations on the agenda include "Controlling Muller Sand Moisture with Moisture Sensors Instead of Compatibility: A Case Study" (James Furness and David Paulsen, Furness-Newburge, Inc.), "Discussing the Impact of Hydraulic Oil on Green Sand Properties" (Liam Miller, Minerals Technologies Inc.), and “3D Sand Printing Technology in the Foundry Industry" (Dr. Yoya Fukuda, Kimura Foundry).

Registration is $750 for AFS members or $1,125 for non-members. To learn more or sign up, click here.
