Tech, Trends and Best Practices: 2022 Aluminum Casting Conference to Explore Innovations

Aluminum metalcasters will learn to maximize their operations when they delve into cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, trends, and best practices at the 2022 Aluminum Casting Conference hosted by the American Foundry Society.

Coming to St. Louis, Missouri, on June 14-16, this conference places a special emphasis on two major areas of interest for the aluminum casting industry: melt quality and casting process control. Its presentations will benefit workers in all aluminum foundries, including sand, lost foam, investment, permanent mold, and die casting operations.

Delivering the keynote presentation will be Diran Apelian, Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Director of the Advanced Casting Research Center at University of California, Irvine. His presentation, "Aluminum Industry Megatrends," will explore topics such as net shape manufacturing, alloy development, formability, and the influence of data science and blockchain in manufacturing processes.

Other presentations will emphasize molten aluminum cleanliness, thermal analysis for aerospace aluminum casting, casting and use of non-conventional aluminum alloys, the global supply chain, mold coating, qualification and predictive analytics, and much more.

Registration for the 2022 Aluminum Casting Conference is $900 for AFS members or $1,350 for non-members. For more information or to sign up, click here.
