Institute Welcomes Director of Training Solutions

The American Foundry Society is pleased to welcome Jen Christian to the AFS Institute as its new Director of Training Solutions.

Christian has many years of manufacturing association experience, having worked for the Forging Industry Association and Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International. She has two degrees in psychology and sociology from Indiana University Bloomington.

“Jen brings a wealth of experience and energy to her role as the Director of Training Solutions,” said Clarence Trowbridge, VP of Education and Workforce Development. “Jen will help us launch new workforce development programs and provide outstanding training services to the metalcasting industry.”

Christian will support the Institute’s classroom, in-plant and e-Learning programs, and she will help to develop new courses to advance the AFS Institute’s mission. The Institute is the educational arm of AFS.

“Each year, 200 or more companies enhance the skills of their workforce through training offered by the AFS Institute,” said Doug  Kurkul, CEO of AFS. “Jen’s dedication to superior member service will help the metalcasting industry take full advantage of these essential training services.”

“I’m looking forward to meeting AFS members and hearing more about their companies’ training needs and how we can address those needs,” Christian said. “I’m happy to be part of the AFS Institute team and to help further the success of the metalcasting industry.”
