Frank Headington, who has served since 2017 as AFS Interim Technical Director, will continue with the society in the role of Senior Technical Director.
“Since last autumn, Frank Headington has been doing an excellent job as Interim Technical Director. Frank has agreed to stay on for at least another 11 months, with the new title of Senior Technical Director,” said Doug Kurkul, AFS CEO. “Frank will continue to serve as the liaison to the Cast Iron, Melting Methods, Engineering, and Steel Divisions, as well as to the Research Board. His knowledge, dedication and professionalism are an asset to AFS and our membership.”
Headington joined Neenah Foundry in 1989 and has served in various capacities, including Corporate Vice President for Technology. He has a Master of Science degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Ceramics Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Respected for his expertise in metalcasting, Headington was the 2016 recipient of the AFS Peter L. Simpson Gold Medal.
