New AFS Website Provides Enhanced Online Experience

The American Foundry Society has launched a new website that serves the needs and advances the interests of the modern metalcasting industry. In aligning with the association’s strategic direction, the new afsinc.org now has a greater focus on several key elements: much-improved navigation for users, streamlined information about careers in metalcasting, a clear presentation of the economic importance of the industry to our modern quality of life, and one-stop access to information for casting designers and buyers.

“Industry stewardship and member service are two of the premier responsibilities of AFS, and this new site was designed with that in mind,” said AFS CEO Doug Kurkul. “Whether someone is a metalcaster, supplier, casting user, student, educator, or public policymaker, the new site will be a valuable resource.”

Corporate and individual members of AFS will find many resources at the familiar URL: afsinc.org. This includes materials for employee recruitment and retention, research, upcoming events and conferences, involvement in AFS, as well as pathways to pursuing conversions and reshoring casting orders from overseas.

Visitors from outside the industry will find information on how metal castings are made and used, the importance of metalcasting to the wider economy, and how foundries are advancing manufacturing innovations and sustainability measures, among other things.

Enhanced member benefits, including Members-Only Webinars and unlimited member access to one of the world’s premier metalcasting libraries, are among the hallmarks of the new site. The AFS Store and AFS publications, including Modern Casting and Metal Casting Design & Purchasing magazines, also are accessible through the site.

“The development of the site was a team effort across AFS staff, and special thanks goes to the diligence of our IT team here at AFS headquarters,” Kurkul said.

The American Foundry Society is a dynamic technical and advocacy organization that serves and represents the $33 billion metalcasting industry. AFS is the only association serving the entire industry, including all metals and processes, with a three-part focus on advocacy, education, and innovation. AFS also publishes Modern Casting and Metal Casting Design & Purchasing magazines and presents Metalcasting Congress and CastExpo, the largest metalcasting trade events in North America. Founded in 1896, the organization is based in Schaumburg, Illinois, with an advocacy office in Washington, D.C. More information is available at afsinc.org.
