The American Foundry Society has announced the 124th Metalcasting Congress will be held April 21-23, 2020, at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland, Cleveland, Ohio. The last time Cleveland hosted the show was in 1974. Columbus was the last Ohio city to host the event, in 2012.

Established in 1896, Metalcasting Congress is AFS’s annual meeting and industry showcase. One of the largest metalcasting trade events in North America, it includes exhibits from foundries and industry suppliers, technical presentations and educational courses, keynote speeches, and awards for leaders and innovators in metalcasting. More than 2,200 people are expected to attend Metalcasting Congress 2020, with about 225 exhibitors anticipated. Casting industry producers, suppliers and end-users attend the event.

“Ohio is home to more foundries than any other state, which makes it a prime location for Metalcasting Congress,” said AFS CEO Doug Kurkul. The industry will bring the buying power that accompanies a $33 billion industry.

Metal castings are part of 90 percent of durable manufactured goods. Most people are rarely more than 10 feet from a metal casting.

Held annually, this year’s Metalcasting Congress was April 3 to 5 in Fort Worth, Texas. CastExpo, a global metalcasting trade show also hosted by AFS, runs once every three years in conjunction with Metalcasting Congress. CastExpo returns next year, when it comes to the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta from April 27 to 30, 2019.

The American Foundry Society is a dynamic technical and advocacy organization that serves and represents the $33 billion metalcasting industry. AFS is the only association serving the entire industry, including all metals and processes, with a three-part focus on advocacy, education, and innovation. AFS also publishes Modern Casting and Metal Casting Design & Purchasing magazines and presents Metalcasting Congress and CastExpo, the largest metalcasting trade events in North America. Founded in 1896, the organization is based in Schaumburg, Illinois, with an advocacy office in Washington, D.C. More information is available at afsinc.org.
