It’s time for Congress to stop punting on infrastructure

AFS joined a coalition of groups led by the National Association of Manufacturers and the Associated General Contractors of America to tell Congress it’s time to stop punting on funding infrastructure needs: the importance of improving roads, bridges, ports, and water infrastructure.

In the two-day infrastructure lobbying push on Capitol Hill made by more than 120 trade groups, AFS and others met with Congressional leaders to make their case. AFS also was also sponsor of the concluding congressional reception in the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Room for Design, Fund, Build and Celebrate: An Infrastructure Working Group Reception.

At the 2017 AFS Government Affairs Fly-In, Senator Inhofe was presented with the 2017 Metalcasting Industry Eagle Award during a reception on Capitol Hill. Inhofe is a long-time leader for key metalcasting issues, including infrastructure investment, lower taxes, eliminating unnecessary regulatory burdens, and educating and recruiting the next generation of workers.

Please mobilize with us this year for the AFS Fly-In on May 15-16, and tell Washington you strongly support infrastructure investment! Register for the 2018 Fly-In here. The time is now for Congress to pass a targeted, substantial investment in modernizing our nation’s infrastructure.
