O'Fallon Casting Breaks Ground on Expansion

O’Fallon Casting (O’Fallon, Missouri) recently broke ground on a 25,000 sq.-ft. expansion, which will eventually bring the total size of the facility to 75,000 sq. ft. Construction will take approximately 12-16 months and will work around O’Fallon’s schedule so the plant will maintain service and delivery.

The main focus of the expansion is to streamline product flow and modernize the casting clean-up and pre-inspection areas. The additions include a new high-capacity Solution Anneal oven, which will almost double OFC's current heat treating capacity. There will also be a conveyor system which will move cast shells directly from the metalcasting facility to the casting cleanup area, reducing handling and the possibility of handling damage.

Newly designed automatic water-wash machines to remove a majority of the ceramic shell in one pass are also arriving, as are downdraft tables and a new dust collection system in the pre-inspection area. Increased warehouse space and new employee locker rooms, restrooms and new lunch room are also part of the project.
