Labor Department Issues New Family Medical Leave Act Employer Compliance Guide

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Wage and Hour Division, released a new guide for employers and human resource specialists. The Employer’s Guide to the Family and Medical Leave Act helps explain the FMLA regulations in a user-friendly manner to answer common questions about the FMLA. Earlier this year, DOL also published a new and more reader friendly FMLA poster. Under the FMLA, employers must post a copy of the general FMLA Notice in each location and it must be posted “prominently where it can be readily seen by employees and applicants for employment.” Companies are allowed to post either the current poster or the new 2016 version. For those foundries interested in using the new poster, you can access it here.
