Ontario Partners With Aluminum Caster to Create Jobs

Ramsden Industries (London, Ontario, Canada) and the Canadian province of Ontario have announced they are partnering to invest in technology and grow Ramsden’s business. The investment will create 14 jobs and preserve 54.

Ramsden, which manufactures custom aluminum castings for the transportation, industrial and automotive sectors, will receive $611,000 from the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund and use that to buy casting and finishing equipment. The infusion will increase automation and improve manufacturing flow by connecting two adjacent facilities in order to accommodate new contracts.

“We are pleased to partner with the Government of Ontario on this exciting project that will position Ramsden Industries for continued success,” said Andrew Ramsden, general manager, Ramsden Industries. “The investment in advanced manufacturing technologies will enable us to improve production methods and provide premium products and services to some of the leading manufacturers in the world. The backing from the Government of Ontario will help Ramsden to fulfill new contracts with those industry leaders and support future growth.”

The project has a total value of $6.1 million and is expected to be completed by September 2019.

“Ramsden Industries is an important long-time employer in the London region and a vital part of Ontario’s manufacturing base,” said Deb Matthews, member of parliament, London North Centre. “Today’s announcement advances Ontario’s economic strategy to foster long-term growth and job creation. Our government is proud to celebrate their growing, forward-thinking business and commitment to this thriving community.”
