Grede, Southfield, Michigan, an MPG Inc. company, has been recognized with a 2016 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year–Energy Management Award by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year recognizes world class corporate energy management programs. The annual award is presented by the EPA and the Department of Energy (DOE) to organizations that demonstrate improved energy performance of buildings and plants through a corporate-wide energy program.

In 2015, Grede completed 235 continuous improvement and ENERGY STAR projects, saving enough energy to power 1,000 homes for one year. Overall, Grede energy intensity has reduced 5% over the last 3 years.
Since its inception in 1992, ENERGY STAR and its partners have helped prevent a total of more than 2.4 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions. In 2014, ENERGY STAR and its partners provided more than $11 billion in societal benefits due to reducing damages from climate change.
