J&L Unveils New Safety Program

J&L Precision Castings and J&L Fiber Services (Waukesha, Wisconsin) unveiled their new Behavior Based Safety Training Program.

According to a news release, Behavior Based Safety Training is a “process that creates a safety partnership between management and employees that continually focuses people's attentions and actions on theirs, and others, daily safety behavior.” The release says “these programs focus on what people do, analyzes why they do it, and then applies a research-supported intervention strategy to improve what people do,” while involving all employees.

The program is inspired by other successful programs from companies across the country.

“We need all our employees to be engaged and on the alert to protect their fellow workers,” said Becky Schatz, senior HR generalist, J&L. “This program asks all employees to observe others in their work environment and have an open conversation regarding hazards and safety rules.”
