IJMC Citation

The quarterly technical journal of the American Foundry Society (AFS), the International Journal of Metalcasting (IJMC) has been given the distinct honor of being accredited by Thomson Reuters, a world renowned information source. In addition to being accepted as an accredited source of technical information, the IJMC now is included in the Thomson Reuters research and citation database.

The database provides a platform for finding scholarly peer-reviewed materials—materials that are unbiased, current and accurate, and achieve a level of quality not reached by solely searching the internet. It also is used to evaluate the scientific performance of authors.

“The IJMC continues to strive to be the global leader in transfer and dissemination of research and technology for the global metalcasting industry,” said Tom Prucha, AFS vice president of technical services. “It also is important that our authors have the best platform to present their work and that our readers are being presented the best information available. That is why we will continue to pursue the widest coverage for our product. Being selected for database indexing is a testament to the quality of the journal, our editorial review board and our contributing authors.”

In addition to Reuters, the IJMC also is included in three other databases: Chemical Abstracts, ProQuest and EBSCO.

Chemical Abstracts: http://www.cas.org

CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society, provides the world's largest and most current collection of chemical and related scientific information, including the most authoritative collection of disclosed chemical substance information, the CAS RegistrySM. CAS combines these databases with advanced search and analysis technologies to deliver the most complete, crosslinked, and effective digital information environment for scientific research and discovery, including such products as SciFinder, STN, STN Express, and STN AnaVistTM, among others.

ProQuest (formerly CSA Cambridge Scientific): ProQuest partners with content publishers and providers to preserve and provide access to information.

The IJMC is indexed in the following ProQuest Databases:

  • Aerospace & High Technology Database

4,114 serials are currently monitored for inclusion in this database. Each publication monitored receives a level of coverage rating based on the scope of the material included—IJMC is classified as a selective source. Less than 50% of the material is covered.
