First Metalcasting Safety Week
March 27, 2012
The event kicks off May 4 as presentations on current OSHA regulations wrap up at the 2012 Government Affairs Conference in Washington D.C. This is followed by a series of three health and safety related webinars scheduled for May 8, 9, and 10. Webinar topics include revisions to the hazard communication standard, OSHA recordkeeping and OSHA hot topics. Webinars are free to AFS members.
AFS also will offer a 25% discount on many safety-related publications during the week. For a complete listing of books visit the AFS Store.
“We are excited to be able to offer yet another reminder on how important safety is in the metalcasting facility,” said Jerry Call, AFS Executive Vice President. “And, it’s great that we can offer it along with NAOSH and our Government Affairs Conference.”
The Metalcasting Safety Week will be running in conjunction with the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), partnering with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), for their annual North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) week May 6–12 in Washington D.C.
ASSE, OSHA and other partners will work together to raise awareness on the importance of workplace safety. Key resources will provide businesses the ability to raise awareness within their facilities and assist in enhancing existing safety programs. AFS is looking forward to continuing to spread awareness on safety in the workplace and support NAOSH with its own safety week.
