AFS Corporate Member Waupaca Foundry, a Hitachi Metals company, has partnered with Fox Valley Technical College to educate, train and develop employees.
According to a report from WaupacaNow.com, seven Waupaca employees recently earned associate’s degrees from FVTC’s Quality Engineering Technology program. They studied for almost three years before earning their degrees.
“This immersion included a leadership element while developing a critical skill set for our growing company,” Kirk Kallio, human resources manager, Waupaca Foundry, said according to the report. “The education was provided at Fox Valley Tech’s Waupaca Regional Center. It’s uplifting to see how these employees grew as people, not just as workers.”
Scott Bailey, a graduate of the program, told WaupacaNow.com that “the foundry cares about its employees.”
“We are now more confident than when we started our journey,” he said.
