Submissions Due for AFS 2015 Safety Awards
January 15, 2016
Submissions for the AFS 2015 Safety Awards (2015 AFS Millionaires Safety Award & 2015 AFS Metalcasting Safe Year Award) are due Friday, January 22, 2016.
Facilities applying for the Millionaire’s Safety Award must have reached any increment of a million consecutive man hours worked without incurring occupational injury or illness that caused missed work days or death from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2015. All million hour increments do not have to be accumulated in 2015. Facilities must have reached the increment some time in 2015. The awards will be presented at AFS CastExpo16 April 16-19 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Applicants for the Metalcasting Safe Year Award must have achieved 365 calendar days without a lost time accident. To qualify, the one-year mark must have been reached some time in 2015. The year begins the day following the most recent lost time accident. For example, if a lost-time accident occurred on Jan. 7, 2014, the facility can begin counting on Jan. 8, 2014 and the award is achieved after remaining accident-free through Jan. 8, 2015. The awards will be presented at AFS’s annual Environmental Health and Safety Conference in August. All AFS corporate members are invited to apply.
Applications for both awards are available on the AFS website, www.afsinc.org/SafetyAwards. For more information, contact Fred Kohloff, AFS director of EHS, email@example.com or fax the applications to 847-824-7848 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org
