AFS/FEF Student Technology Scholarship Contest Now Open for Submissions
November 9, 2015
Submissions are open for the 2016 Foundry Education Foundation (FEF) and American Foundry Society (AFS) Student Technology Scholarship Contest. The purpose of the competition is to encourage student participation and recognize excellence in student research in the field of metalcasting technology. The winner will receive a $3,000 FEF scholarship. Top submissions will have their papers published in the International Journal of Metalcasting and be invited to display their work and participate in Q&A sessions at CastExpo'16 in Minneapolis, Minn., April 16-17.
The contest is open to North American citizens currently enrolled in metalcasting-related programs at FEF-certified and affiliated schools. Students must be registered with FEF and enrolled in the current academic year.
The submissions will be judged prior to CastExpo'16. Submissions will be judged for technical merit and quality by a panel of metalcasting experts.
All submissions will automatically be placed in the running for additional scholarships offered by the AFS Technical Divisions.
Completed application form and final submissions must be submitted to AFS Technical Services by March 20, 2016. For more information or to submit, contact Katie Matticks, AFS Technical & Library Services Coordinator, firstname.lastname@example.org, 847-537-4237 ext. 294.
AFS is a not-for-profit technical and management society that has existed since 1896 to provide and promote knowledge and services that strengthen the metalcasting industry for the ultimate benefit of its customers and society.
