International Ferrous Melting Conference Held in Nashville

AFS held its annual International Ferrous Melting Conference Oct. 7-9 at the Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville, Tenn. Attendees networked with and listened to experts in ferrous melting practice and research and discussed the issues impacting the industry in 2015.
The conference featured presentations from industry experts on metallurgy, charge materials, induction melting, cupola melting, energy use measurement, bidding for energy contracts in deregulated states, channel furnaces and automatic pouring.
There were also breakout session tracks for Cupola and Coreless.
Finally the conference featured two keynote presentations:
● “The Call―The Story of One Family’s 100 Years of Service to the American Metalcasting Industry” delivered by Bruce Dienst, Simpson Technologies Corp.
● “Exceeding Today’s Customer’s Needs: The Natural Progression of My Experiences at Waupaca Foundries―The Challenges, The Obstacles and The Successes,” was delivered by Bruce Tesch, Waupaca Foundry Inc.
