Webinar in October for Women in Metalcasting Group

September 16, 2014

The American Foundry Society (AFS) Women in Metalcasting group will be holding a webinar for its members Oct. 7 at noon CDT on understanding generational and gender perspectives to effectively connect with others. AFS started the special interest group in May to provide a platform for women in the industry for networking, mentorship and the sharing of ideas, experiences and best practices that will benefit members professionally and personally.

The webinar, “Connecting Across Generations and Gender,” will be given by Karen Murphy of Work/Life Pursuit. Murphy worked in the corporate world for more than 30 years in research, operations, sales and marketing and environmental, health and safety and now conducts generational and work/life workshops for corporations, universities, trade associations, and civic clubs.

The webinar’s goals are to bring together like-minded women to share experiences and approaches to work and life challenges; provide ideas to help your company with the multigenerational workforce transformation; and give attendees personal and professional development to attain work and life goals.

The webinar is open to members of the Women in Metalcasting group. For more information or to join the group or webinar, contact AFS representative Katie Matticks at
