Women in Metalcasting Group Started
May 7, 2014
The American Foundry Society (AFS) has started a special interest group focused on providing a platform for women in the metalcasting industry to develop avenues for networking, mentorship and the sharing of ideas, experiences and best practices that will benefit members professionally and personally.
The group was launched this year at the 118th Metalcasting Congress with a breakfast program aimed initially to gather women in the industry together in one meeting place. Based on strong positive feedback, a plan is underway to create a structured group to facilitate professional development among women in metalcasting.
The group is open to AFS members. For more information on becoming involved and future programming, contact AFS representative Katie Matticks at Katie@afsinc.org.
The American Foundry Society is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1896. With its headquarters in Schaumburg, Ill., AFS provides members and consumers with information and services to promote and strengthen the metalcasting industry.
