AFS Institute Offering New Nobake Course

The AFS Institute is offering a new course, Nobake Molding & Coremaking 101, as part of its $1 million pledge to the metalcasting industry to invest in improved education for today’s workforce. The course will be held Oct. 24 at AFS Headquarters in Schaumburg, Ill.
The class will provide attendees with a basic foundation of the nobake molding and coremaking process used in metalcasting facilities. It also will discuss basic terminology, common chemical binders and equipment, and mold defect evaluation. Attendees will be guided through the decision-making process for evaluating casting deficiencies and leave the course with a customized troubleshooting list for use in their facilities.
