Eight metalcasting companies from across the U.S. participated in Pittsburg State University’s annual Company Day, Sept. 18 at the College of Technology’s Kansas Technology Center. The industry-student event presented networking and career opportunities for a variety of technology related fields.
The participating metalcasting companies were Alcoa-Howmet, American Castings, Bradken, East Jordan Iron Works, Farrar Corp., Flowserve, MetalTek International and Steeltech. Dwight Barnhard of Superior Aluminum ran the careers in metalcasting booth as part of the day’s activities.
"It's very exciting to see so many companies here at Company Day, because that shows that companies are hiring and they are looking at Pittsburg State students to fill open positions," said Dr. Bruce Dallman, dean of the College of Technology. "We have a strong reputation for fully preparing our students for the workforce, and events like this show just how much interest there is in the industry for our students."
