Pennsylvania Metalcasting Facility to Close in May

Railroad products manufacturer McConway & Torley LLC will close its 144-year-old Kutztown, Pa., plant and lay off 130 workers on May 5, 2013, according to a filing with the state Department of Labor & Industry. Among them are 27 grinder operators, 11 forklift operators, nine inspectors and eight welders.
The facility at 230 Railroad St. will close permanently, according to a Labor & Industry document filed Tuesday in compliance with the Worker Adjustment Retraining Notification Act.
The company is owned by Trinity Industries Inc., Dallas, Texas.
