A new melting additive metal manufacturing process has recently been released.
Renishaw Inc., Hoffman Estates, Ill., recently introduced a new laser melting additive metal manufacturing process which is capable of producing fully dense metal parts directly from 3D CAD data by using a high-powered fiber laser. Parts are built layer by layer with a thickness ranging from 20-100 microns. The AM125 and the AM250 systems represent a third generation design and feature vacuum technology, are low on gas consumption and allow for an ease of operation.
