Boose Foundry holds Thanksgiving food drive

November 20, 2017

AFS Corporate Member Boose Aluminum Foundry (Reamstown, Pennsylvania) held a Thanksgiving food drive that drew more than $1,300 in donations and collected 350 items. Boose Foundry will donate an additional $250 that will help feed 75 local families.

According to a news release, Boose began holding employee empowerment meetings over a year ago and one of the ideas suggested was a Thanksgiving food drive. Managers and supervisors would raise money for turkeys and ham, hourly employees would donate non-perishable food items, and Boose would donate 50 cents per item collected.

Boose is now planning a Christmas initiative and hopes to provide gifts to 50 children.
