Indiana Metalcaster Ships First Stainless Steel Castings

October 29, 2015

Harrison Steel Castings Company, Attica, Ind., recently added stainless steel as an option for its customers. The new offering is a part of the steel caster’s strategic planning that includes expanding the markets it serves.

“We are pleased to announce that Harrison Steel has successfully produced and shipped our first three stainless steel castings,” said Shawn Martin, metallurgist.  “The casting sizes range from 780 lbs. to 5,015 lbs. and support products in the oil and gas industries.  The stainless material produced and sold were CF3 and CF3M.”

Harrison’s plans revolve around continuing to elevate their quality and technical capabilities.  Harrison has recently been certified for PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). Being able to provide these quality certifications, diversified material offerings and machining capabilities, Harrison is confident they have much to offer their prospective customers.

“As we ventured in to the oil and gas and pump and valve markets, one of the road blocks was being able to provide stainless products along with carbon steels,” stated Geoff Curtis, vice president and general manager.  “We are now able to offer these products.”

Harrison Steel is a full-service, global steel castings company with approximately 750 employees. It casts carbon and low/medium alloy steel castings for the customers in agriculture, heavy equipment, energy, military, mining and oil and gas industries.
