Silicon Carbide Degassing Rotors

Morgan Advanced Materials, Windsor, Cornwall, England, has launched a new generation of degassing rotors for secondary aluminum processing applications.
The one-piece silicon carbide degassing rotors offer an alternative to the graphite material traditionally used for this task. The presence of gas and other particles inside metal castings have can negatively impact appearance and performance by decreasing component strength and density, making effective degassing integral to the casting process. The one-piece silicon carbide degassing rotors are available in a range of diameters with shaft lengths up to 3.9 ft. (1.2m). Morgan also offers a selection of adapters to allow the rotors to operate with different degassing machines.
