Software for Spark Emission Spectrometer
August 14, 2013
Bruker Elemental, Kalkar, Germany, has developed a software package for its Q8 Magellan spark spectrometer. The MCI software, which stands for “Metal Cleanliness Inspection,” evaluates sparks caused by non-metallic inclusions on a statistical basis to determine total oxygen content, cleanliness, oxide and sulfide inclusions and grain size and distribution of oxides and sulfides.
The Q8 Magellan spectrometer and accompanying software are suitable for routine operations in both laboratory and production environments. The Q8 Magellan features channel photomultipliers, a digital plasma generator and a heavy duty, low maintenance spark stand with co-axial argon flow.
