A new gas-heated furnace can preheat molds up to 2,000F.
The Grieve Corp., Round Lake, Ill., has a new, No. 862, gas-heated furnce to preheat molds up to 2,000F (1,093.3C). A total of 750,000 BTU/h (British thermal units/hour) are installed within four modulating natural gas burners with a floor-mounted combustion air blower. The unit features an automatic door switch to drive burners to low fire when the door is open and an air-operated vertical lift door. All required safety equipment also is included on the unit.
