Webinar: Hexavalent Chromium Part 1: OSHA’s Standard

Part 1 of this series, given by Kay Rowntree, Industrial Hygiene Sciences, will cover OSHA's Hexavalent Chromium Standard (1910.1026) as it applies to foundry exposures. Exposures to hexavalent chromium (Cr+6) can occur during the melting of stainless steel and other higher chromium alloys and when thermal processes such as plasma cutting, arc gouging or welding are used in the processing of castings made from these alloys. You will learn about the OSHA requirements and where to focus your efforts to comply with the Standard. Part 2 of this series, to be held in September, will address reducing exposures to hexavalent chromium.
