The Best Practices in Ductile Iron Conference will be held Sept. 28-29 at AFS Headquarters, Schaumburg, Ill. This conference will review the basics of ductile iron metallurgy and processing, while guiding you through the necessary steps to implement this process or make it more efficient in your facility. The event will be led by Gene Muratore, Rio Tinto and Fred Linebarger, Miller and Company, two of the most well-versed and respected men on the ferrous side of the metalcasting industry, especially with ductile iron castings. Topics will include ductile iron specification, melting and charge materials, inoculation and treatment, filtration and gating systems, quality assurance, finding new markets and more.
