AFS Releases ASTM A247 Wall Chart |
AFS has released the ASTM A247 Iron Casting Graphite Microstructure Rating Wall Chart. This graphite-rating chart supplements ASTM specification A247 and is used to determine graphite form, size and distribution for both gray and ductile iron. The reference also uses actual, high-quality photomicrographs, as opposed to the plates of artist renditions of graphite sizes and shapes currently offered by ASTM to supplement A247.
The chart is broken down into four categories, including distribution examples, graphite forms, flake size class and nodule size class. It was prepared by the AFS Cast Iron Division Quality Control Committee with the approval of the ASTM Committee A04 on Iron Castings and is 28 x 40 in.
