Executive Committee 2-A The primary activity of the Executive Committee is to plan, organize, administer and implement the necessary committees with the technical disciplines required in the advancement of the fields of knowledge related to aluminum casting. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Program & Papers Committee 2-B Responsible for the preparation of the technical program for the Aluminum Division for the annual meeting of the Society. Secures papers and speakers with the responsibility for the review and acceptance as prescribed by the rules and regulations of the committee. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Research Committee 2-C To initiate and monitor research and development directed towards aluminum casting technology, maintain a long-range research plan, assist Aluminum Division committees in developing and monitoring research projects, and coordinate the presentation of research requests to the Research Board after Executive Committee approval. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aerospace Structural Casting Committee 2-D To discuss, compile and disseminate information regarding the design, specifications and production of areospace structural castings. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Permanent Mold Practices Committee 2-E To discuss, investigate and evaluate subjects pertinent to the permanent molding of aluminum. To maintain awareness of state-of-the-art for this subject. To disseminate pertinent information to the industry. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cast Metal Matrix Composite Committee 2-F The purpose of this committee is to promote the technical advancement, successful development and commercial application of cast metal matrix composite materials. As specific goals, the committee shall establish common terminology, develop quality control standards, develop processing guidelines, develop material specifications, identify critical technical needs, and exchange technical information. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gating & Risering Committee 2-H ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Awards Committee 2-I To nominate candidates for gold medals, awards of scientific merit and service citations. The committee is to develop biographical data on past and present Aluminum Division members. Prepare necessary forms for submission of Aluminum Division award nominees to the AFS Board of Awards. In addition, the committee shall prepare and present annual awards for the Division. |
