Wymer Receives Keating Founders’ Freedom Award at Executive Conference |
AFS honored Jack Wymer, vice president of administration, Fairmount Minerals, Weldron, Ill., at the AFS Foundry Executive Conference held Sept. 20-22 at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort, Coronado, Calif.
Wymer received the 2009 Keating Founders’ Freedom award for significant contributions to the metalcasting industry and active participation in the fields of government affairs, human resource management and education.
“Jack Wymer has been an extraordinary example of commitment and dedication to the metalcasting industry,” said Jerry Call, AFS executive vice president. “His many years of leading the AFS Government Affairs committee (Div. 12) have helped ensure the future of the industry.”
Wymer served as the AFS Div. 12 Government Affairs committee chairman from May of 2007 to July 1, 2009. Chris Norch, Denison Industries, Denison, Texas now serves as Chairman.

In addition, a tour of the MCAS Miramar, home to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing of the U.S. Marine Corps, known as “America’s 9-1-1 Force” also took place.
