For the second consecutive year, AFS is offered a practical two-day workshop with Professor John Campbell, Univ. of Birmingham, U.K., which focused on the structure and properties of castings and reduction of entrainment defects. The workshop, held Nov. 12 at AFS Headquarters, drew attention to the latest concepts regarding the filling and feeding of castings and ways to reduce scrap, raise quality and reduce costs. Attendees also brought problem castings which were examined as class exercises.
