On September 23, the American Foundry Society (AFS) honored Doug Trinowski, vice president of technology, HA International, Westmont, Ill., and Dave Bumbar, president, Aurora Metals Division LLC, Montgomery, Ill., at the AFS Foundry Executive Conference held at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino, Incline Village, Nev.
Trinowski received the William J. Grede award for management, marketing and/or educational contributions to the metalcasting industry that have resulted in expanding the effective use of metal castings.
"Doug Trinowski has been an extraordinary example of commitment and dedication to the metalcasting industry," said Jerry Call, executive vice president of AFS. "Through his tireless efforts to promote the development of technology and management ideals through AFS chapters and his work with various committees, he has worked to ensure the future of the industry."
Trinowski is an active member of AFS and is currently the Secretary of the AFS Division Council and is past Chair of the Molding Methods and Materials committee (Division 4).
Bumbar received the Keating Founders’ Freedom Award for significant contributions to the metalcasting industry and active participation in the fields of government affairs, human resource management, safety, health and/or education.
"Dave Bumbar has been a staunch supporter of the metalcasting industry for years," said Call. "He has always made significant contributions and provided excellent leadership for the industry at the state and federal levels."
Bumbar is an active member of the AFS Government Affairs Division 12 and a leader whenever AFS storms Capitol Hill to confront legislative issues. He also serves on the AFS Division and Technology Development Councils.
